Daisy and Simon’s marriage is great, isn’t it? After years together, the arrival of longed-for daughter Millie sealed everything in place. A happy little family of three. And so what if Simon drinks a bit too much sometimes – Daisy’s used to it, she knows he’s letting off steam. Until one night at a party things spiral horribly out of control. And that happy little family of three will never be the same again
I’ve read a few of Adele Parks books before but I don’t think any of the others have covered so many topics and emotions as Lies Lies Lies does.
Having looked at other reviews on Goodreads after reading the book, it is clear to see that other readers also found some of the events very dark and also realistic.
Daisy and Sam appear to have it all – good careers, a nice house, a daughter born after years of IVF. However we quickly discover in chapter one that Sam cannot be Millie’s dad (when he starts looking into having another baby so that Millie has a sibling) and the lies start to spiral.
I enjoyed the book despite the dark topics covered – this was a book I didn’t want to put down. Thank you to NetGalley and HQ Books for a digital ARC in return for an honest review.
