Today I’m sharing a review for the latest book by one of my favourite authors. I discovered Veronica Henry’s books when I first started reviewing books, and I have now read most of her books. This is the latest book in The Beach Hut series. Thank you to Orion Books for granting my NetGalley request to read a digital advance review copy.
Synopsis:
Escape to the coast with this delicious collection of short stories and beach-hut inspired recipes from Sunday Times bestselling author Veronica Henry – the perfect summer treat!
On a shimmering summer’s day on the coast, the waves are calling, the picnic basket is packed, and change is in the air…
A family enjoy their last holiday at a much-loved beach hut. The tide brings in an old face – and a new temptation – while a writer’s retreat is shaken up by a surprise arrival. The simple pleasures of the seaside compete with the Instagram dream, a couple’s future is turned upside down, and a celebratory evening takes a stormy turn. And as the sun sets, an unexpected romance is simmering…
From a windswept breakfast while the surf’s up, to a romantic seafood dinner under the stars,
enjoy a little taste of the seaside – wherever you are.
This uplifting collection of eight original short stories and over fifty delicious recipes will transport you to the golden sands of Everdene for a perfect day at the beach hut.
My thoughts:
Veronica Henry has a new book being published on June 10th in the UK. Instead of a fiction novel, this book is a mix of short stories set in Everdene (the setting for the previous Beach Hut books) and delicious sounding recipes. The short stories were lovely and I enjoyed how they linked to previous books and to each other. In addition to the short stories and recipes, Veronica shares ideas for summer holiday board games, books, films etc
I have only seen a digital proof copy but I’m looking forward to having my own paperback copy after publication day so that I can use Post-It notes to label the recipes I want to try (there are quite a few on my list).
