My thoughts:
I quickly realised that Hannah was the sister of the main character in The Little Swiss Ski Chalet (same family history), but this is a separate story and could be read easily without having read The Little Swiss Ski Chalet first.
I enjoyed the previous two books, but this book quickly became my new favourite. Hannah is an excellent character, who has reached a crossroads in her life and needs to break away from her daily routines. Feeling disappointed by her office cake donation, leads her sign up for the cookery course in Ireland and changes more than just her baking.
I love how Julie Caplin has created a wonderful set of characters, including the staff at the Cookery School, the other students and the local villagers. The story flows well, with humour, new friendships, romance, secrets, farm animals and family issues thrown into the mix and ‘baked’ beautifully into this story.
A perfect relaxing book to curl up with on an autumn day, with a hot chocolate and some home baking. I loved reading this story and look forward to the next book in the series.

Julie Caplin, formerly a PR director, swanned around Europe for many years taking top food and drink writers on press trips (junkets) sampling the gastronomic delights of various cities in Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Copenhagen and Switzerland. It was a tough job but someone had to do it.
These trips have provided the inspiration and settings for her Romantic Escapes series which have been translated into fifteen different languages.
The first book in the seven strong series, The Little Café in Copenhagen, was shortlisted for a Romantic Novel of the Year Award.
